WAT is France's new dig PARIS -- WAT, France's fourth and newest digital TV platform, will launch in December. A trial channel version was set to begin airing Sunday, six months in advance, WAT management said. WAT will be available uncoded, free and without subscription, and intends to launch eight channels in December, targeting viewers who already own a satellite receiver. The platform's first channel, Wbpm, dedicated to techno music, will broadcast in analog and operate on an annual budget of 42 million francs ($7 million), according to French daily Le Monde.
